This past weekend, we held our inaugural COSIGN Awards Dinner & Gala at the Crowne Plaza Hotel – Downtown Dallas. Hosted by K.G. Graham, COSIGN’s Founder and Creative Director and featured several performances, it was THE place to be in the Dallas area on Saturday night, with the best of the best in the city in attendance. Deejay Mike Bee provided the soundtrack and visual presentations for the evening, and kept the party going all night.
The evening began with a cocktail and networking reception in the foyer, sponsored by Hennessy and Hennessy VSOP in which the first 50 attendees received complimentary cocktails. Several vendor booths and a step and repeat banner were set up on the red carpet upon entry along with our photo booth sponsor, Flash Forward Photo Booth. Everyone was wearing their best, the gentlemen in suits and the ladies heels and evening dresses, and there was the constant flash of cameras and camera phones. After everyone shopped with the local vendors, we were let in the ballroom around 8 p.m., to a beautiful set up of several tables, all with dinner salads, bread and drinks. K.G. blessed the food with a short prayer before everyone dug into their steak and chicken dinners.
Throughout the night guests were treated to several music acts that we #COSIGN, including R&B songstress Soliel Soleil X, hip-hop artist Jayson lyric and the Movmnt Band played during the dinner reception.
The highlight of the evening was when super-producer J.White Did It won producer of the year and Mike Bee played Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” which J. White produced and spent several weeks on the charts as the number one record in the country. The attendees rapped the lyrics word for word while celebrity DJ, DJ ASAP ad-libed the entire performance. You just had to be there for this epic moment.
The night concluded with guests taking last minute photo opps on the red carpet in front of the COSIGN and Curls banner and the Hennessy banner.
