Iro Omere | U.S. Congressional Candidate Talks Importance of Black Voters

In this episode of #COSIGNConversations, we sat down with Iro Omere who is running to be the next Congressional Member to represent Texas District 4. During our interview Iro shares the importance of black voters turning out, why she got into politics, how to get started in politics, and how citizens can get more involved.

Iro Omere is a North Texas Native born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She studied biology, chemistry and community development at Prairie View A&M University. She then studied law at John Marshall Law School.

Iro began her career in Higher Education at Prairie View then moved to serve as a STEM educator in the inner city schools in Houston, Atlanta and Brooklyn for nine years.

Iro Omere has been an advocate for education development, physical and mental health. She has also lead in the political engagement and involvement of underrepresented communities throughout the country.

Iro Omere is running to be the next Congressional Member to represent Texas District 4.
