Versace 2013 Fall/Winter Collection

Versace‘s 2013 fall/winter collection — unveiled during Milan fashion week — proves to be just as bold as its Spring/Summer gladiator inspired collection. Exploring the realm of masculinity while venturing near the edge of questionability, Donatella Versace introduces a collection comprised of the label’s signature loud prints along a variety of less busy, monochromatic pieces. With a focus on suiting, the collection injects presence to the wearer with the use of billowing cuts, large furs and draped outerwear — a nod towards the early gangster era and the ruling authority associated with the culture. Lace undergarments are also present in the collection, and although not for everyone, the use of material and the subjective nature of its placement once again shouts the Versace name and hastily transports us from the land of virility, to the now extended edge of uncertainty.
