COSIGN Life: Marcel And Varner Wow at HOB

Sunday night saw an impressive one-two punch of R&B artists take over the evening. While the fellas were glued in front of the television watching the Cowboys/Eagles game, the ladies were downtown at the House Of Blues Dallas, experiencing the talents of Adrian Marcel and Elle Varner. These two not-yet-but-soon-to-be household names each put on impressive sets, in front of a primarily female crowd. Marcel, the handsome and charismatic male singer from East Oakland, serenaded the audience in exchange for batted eyes and screams of approval and Varner, the coat check girl turned major label recording artist, accompanied by her live band, played her guitar and fought through a cold to sing as powerfully as any of her contemporaries would at full strength. This was the 5th show of a 10-day, 6-city tour, all in the month of December. It appears that if you missed out, you really missed out.
