With her faith in God and strong foundation of family and close friends, Shardae believes there are no limitations on what she can do in the industry!

Who is Shardae Neal?

A super ambitious TV news journalist who believes EVERY one has a story to share. I’m happy I’ve been given the platform to help tell it! My goal is to show young African American girls that being yourself is the key to YOUR own success.

What void does your business fill in your current industry?

I’m proud to be a part of a station (CW33) that has introduced the DFW to an opinionated, fresh, fast-paced millennial news.

Tell us three lessons you’ve learned while operating your business.

I’ve learned that thinking outside the box is vital if you want to thrive in the news industry.
Creating your OWN avenue is important. You’re not going to be successful going after someone else’s dream or imitating someone else’s “journey”.
The most important thing I’ve learned is to never be afraid when communicating your ideas. You may be the youngest, less-experienced person in the room but never shy away from speaking up. All you need is that ONE person to see your potential.

Mentorships are vital, if you could be mentored by anyone in the world who would it be and why?

I would be lying if I did not say Oprah. Come on … there are a lot of African American women in the industry that I look up to, but Oprah is ‘the Queen’ of content creation. She has inspired me and millions to keep pushing no matter where you came from or what “barriers” may stand in your way.

Tell us one thing majority of people don’t know about you.

I’m a proud Pleasant Grove, TX (Grovesiiiide) native. Wherever God decides to take me in my career, I’ll ALWAYS be very proud of my Dallas roots.

Who do you #COSIGN and why?

I #COSIGN Aria Bell. She’s another strong, Black, independent woman doing her thing in the industry!
She takes no shortcuts, works hard, and encourages the people around her – including me!
