Alexa, play “Welcome to Dallas” by Big Tuck. By now, I’m sure all of our COSIGN Lifers have heard the news that the city of Dallas is finally getting the recognition we deserve by having not one, but two classic Nike Air Max 97’s to represent the Triple D.
The Nike Air Max 97, Home Edition employs a vibrant color way that pays homage to the city we hold so dearly, Dallas. The Home version is made up of mainly black and white with highlights of neon green, symbolic of one of Dallas’ most popular high-rises, the Bank of America building. The neon green also glows in the dark which adds an extra flare to the sneaker. The shoe also features spurts of bright red that represent the Pegasus (a symbol synonymous with Dallas), featured on the classic Nike swoosh and embedded in a few Dallas inspired logos, such as the wing infused Triple-D found on the tongue and insole. On the sneakers heel pull tab is a combination of Dallas’ area codes “4697214” for 469, 972, and 214.
The Nike Air Max 97 Dallas Away edition consists of a University red, white and blue color way equipped with stars embedded throughout the upper shoe. Also features the same Triple D logo on the tongue in red and blue.
I had the honor to represent Dallas as 1/4 of a key influencer group for the “Home and Away” campaign curated by Foot Locker and Nike. This campaign features a documentary-style video (see below) and is coupled with lifestyle photography aimed to ignite a conversation within the Dallas sneaker community, demonstrating an insider’s understanding of what drives the hunger, hustle, passion, and uniqueness of our city. In my opinion (might be biased), but Foot Locker did an amazing job of highlighting four diverse creative influencers that span across professional sports, all aspects of media: radio, digital, and print, as well as entrepreneurship. The four selected to represent Dallas were Amari Cooper, wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, Lady Jade, morning radio personality for K1o4’s “Dede In The Morning,“ Channing Beumer, founder of CNK Daily, and myself, K.G. Graham, founder of COSIGN Magazine.
The Nike Air Max 97 Dallas “Home & Away,” are now available, In-store and online. Only at Foot Locker!
Huge thanks to everyone a part of this project. We #COSIGN you!
