DALLAS, TX — January 29, 2019 — Impact House, an early-stage venture accelerator and support ecosystem teams up with Hack DFW to host HackDFW 2019: a two-day technology hackathon and interactive summit. Festivities begin February 15 with a VIP Kick-off reception powered by Impact House, located at the Mavs Gaming Pavilion in Deep Ellum, with the hackathon, taking place at the Dallas Women’s Museum in Fair Park on February 16 and 17.

Impact House brings a fresh perspective to the Dallas tech scene, emphasizing culture and impact through diversity, access, and inclusion. During HackDFW 2019, Impact House will host a special #HackTheCultureChallenge leveraging the power of technology to improve social and economic mobility in under-resourced communities. Impact House kicked off the #HackTheCulture Networking Series in November 2018, engaging more than 500 professionals and entrepreneurs through intimate discussions on the unique challenges faced by underrepresented women and minorities in the workplace and in entrepreneurship.

“We’re excited to partner with HackDFW for this year’s event. They have a great history of hosting large-scale interactive hackathons and our partnership brings that legacy to an even greater audience. Hack DFW2019 will combine creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting, giving participants from diverse backgrounds access to the skills that are necessary to thrive in the 21st century economy,” says Benjamin J.Vann, CEO of Impact House.

HackDFW 2019 has an emphasis on design thinking and making innovation accessible for all. The free event will bring an estimated 500-800students, professionals, corporations, and investors in the spirit of innovation and collaboration. Teams imagine the largest challenge facing our region and create prototypes for technology-based solutions.

“HackDFW is a place where you can be part of the nebulous, wondrous, awe-inspiring, frustrating-yet-glorious process of creating. A place where ideas aren’t limited by fear or doubt, but only for 24 hours” Says Adam Kila CEO of HackDFW.
