Epic Fit Fest 2024: A High-Energy Celebration of Fitness and Wellness in Grand Prairie
This past Sunday, September 22nd, the Epic Fit Fest made its powerful debut at The Epic in Grand Prairie, and what an event it was! Bringing together over 400 fitness enthusiasts, wellness advocates, and local businesses, the inaugural festival was an action-packed day that truly showcased the vibrant fitness culture in the community.
From the start, the energy was infectious. The day kicked off bright and early at 10 AM with a dynamic warm-up led by Run It Up Dallas founder Theo Murdaugh, followed by heart-pumping HIIT sessions led by fitness pros D Nicole Monroe and Baylore Walker. Attendees then transitioned into the fun and unique experience of Trap Yoga led by Devyn Walker, which fused the tranquility of yoga with the energy of trap music, making fitness not just a workout but an engaging experience.
One of the standout features of the event was the strong lineup of sponsors. From Red Bull to Uncle Nearest and Manna Juice Bar, each sponsor contributed to the festival’s success, offering everything from refreshing beverages to wellness products. Texas Trust Credit Union, The Harrison Firm, Bubblr, and Urban Skin RX were also on hand, providing support that made the day not only possible but unforgettable.
Co-founder Dr. Kristi Andrew was all smiles as she reflected on the day: “Hosting our first major event was an incredible experience. Seeing the community come together in celebration of health and wellness was truly inspiring. We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout!”
It wasn’t just fitness on display—Total Wellness & Beauty treated VIP attendees to luxurious wellness perks like complimentary B12 shots and IV drips. Meanwhile, the TRZ Recovery Tent, YMCA Motus Fit, and Green Jacket Indoor Golf offered additional experiences that catered to every facet of health and well-being.
With over 20 local vendors in attendance, participants were treated to a variety of health and wellness products and services, showcasing the strength and diversity of the local wellness industry. Whether exploring Black Merch, Flourish Curls Salon, or Black Girl Vitamins, attendees had the chance to immerse themselves in wellness options they could take home with them.
Of course, no event is complete without great food! Festival-goers enjoyed delicious bites from local favorites like CJ’s Brunch House Truck, Kev’s Que, and Supermarket Stakeout winner Chef Allen, fueling everyone through a full day of fitness and fun.
DJ Duffey, also a co-founder, expressed her excitement about the festival’s success: “This event exceeded our expectations! It was amazing to witness so many people engaging in fitness, wellness, and community. We are thrilled with how it turned out and can’t wait for the next one!”
The first-ever Epic Fit Fest wasn’t just a one-time event—it was a celebration of health, community, and the vibrant fitness culture in Grand Prairie. As the day wrapped up, there was no doubt that the festival left a lasting impact on everyone who attended.
