Thanks for taking the time to do this interview, so tell us who is Keleisha N. Anderson and how did you get into real estate?

I was born and raised in Waco, TX. After moving back to Waco from Houston I decided to move to the DFW area for fashion school. However, God had other plans! I started working in the apartment business where I then met my first mentor as he was currently a Realtor at the time becoming a Broker. He approached me and told me that I had a great personality for Real Estate and I should look into getting my RE license, and if I was ever interested in the business to give him a call. After several years of working my way up to a property manager, I decided that one day I needed something different in the field and wanted more so I reached out to him and told him I was ready for a change and asked him what I needed to do. Needless to say, he was still in the business and rocking and rolling. He told me exactly what I needed to do and I got it done and from there….my life changed forever!

That’s amazing. Now you’re the owner of The KNA Homes Group, tell us about your company and the services you offer.

The KNA Homes Group brokered by Ultima Real Estate. We offer Free Real Estate services for someone needing to buy, sell, and or lease. My group is a group of MOTIVATED, Go- Getter like-minded women that share the same common goal. We want to see more people, especially minorities trade in their apartment keys for their dream home keys!

We #COSIGN that! Also, congratulations! You were recently recognized by D Magazine as 2020 Best Real Estate Agent / Top Producer how does this feel especially with 2020 being one crazy year? And how does one get recognized for this prestigious award?

Wow, I’m still shocked at this award. I always wanted to be recognized for this award one day as this is a big accomplishment for us Realtors in the industry. It happened sooner than what I thought. This award is voted by other people in the real estate industry. So, to get this award it’s kind of a big deal! I realized I have definitely created a name for myself.

In your opinion (and your clients) what makes you such an amazing realtor to work with and what separates you from other realtors?

I would have to say I just stay “Real & Relatable”.  I bought my first home at age 23 as a single mom. After living there for 4 years I decided to sell and made about 60k profit. I was so amazed, and as a brand-new realtor at the time I felt I needed to let the world know what homeownership did for my life especially as a single mom at the time. That changed my life! I wanted people to feel what I felt and wanted them to know if I could do it they could as well. I’m big on relationship building and getting to know my clients. Speaking from experience as I have now bought 3 homes and have sold 2 it’s easy for me to understand where they are and how they feel. That’s the main reason why God gave me the vision of hosting FREE classes to the community to help them understand this whole process of buying. Also, I wanted people to believe and understand how possible, and realistic it is to become a homeowner. I got a team together of others in the industry that shared my same vision and was able to host these huge successful free seminars that have become super popular around the dfw area now.

Real Estate is a commission based industry, how do you stay motivated to get up and hustle everyday especially if you’ve had a slow week or month?

Realizing the value of a dollar early on in my career, I’m thankful God humbled me so early and prepared me for where I am now. Every day, is a new day to create and think outside the box. Everyday matters! Planting seeds matter! Even if you don’t see the harvest right away. I can’t preach that enough. I sowed a lot of seeds before getting to where I am now. I hustled every day. I watched and learned from others on what to do and not to do. I am always hungry for successes and knocking out goals. So, getting up every day is easy when you love what you do so it never feels like work!

Our community is comprised of entrepreneurs, as entrepreneurs what should we be doing to prepare ourselves for home ownership for ourselves or if we’re looking to buy investment property?

Great question! Seek knowledge first! This question is exactly why I’m thankful for my God-given vision on putting on my successful free homebuyer’s events in the dfw. So, that people can understand the “real” about real estate and how homeownership is really at an arm’s reach!

What have you learned from 2020 and the pandemic?

The biggest thing I would say is, always be ready and prepared for change! As we all know this pandemic shook up the world. It’s been tough for a lot of people mentally, emotionally and also financially. This has taught a lot of us to “think outside the box”! In which, one should continue to do so always when being an entrepreneur. But our income is never guaranteed. So, it’s important for one to know if you don’t have a cushion make a cushion for yourself. Nothing is ever promised or guaranteed, so SAVE! Also, be careful who you allow in your personal space. Everyone doesn’t deserve your time or energy. Protecting your peace and energy is important! Know that everything happens for a reason and we can only control what we can control. Once you learn that you become less stressed and can live without fear.

Last but not least, who are 5 Realtors you #COSIGN?

I #COSIGN Laquita Martin, Lionel Rice, Benisha Watson, Danielle Ivery, and Nick Rockwell!
