As cliché as it may sound, who is Amber Epps?

Amber Epps is a girl who was raised in Fort Worth, TX by two amazing parents! They told me my whole life I could have anything and be anything and I believed them! Although I made mistakes along the way, God has always stepped in, in my favor! I was blessed with an awesome husband, who’s also my business partner and together we make magic in all that we do! Lol, that’s how T&A was formed.

That’s amazing, so tell us what led you and your husband to create T & A Beauty?

I’ve always been into beauty by default. My mother is a cosmetologist, and for as long as I can remember she’s been teaching me about the beauty industry. About nine years ago, I met my first personal MUA, he worked for MAC, and I fell in love with makeup and the joy of getting my makeup done. We often joked about creating a line, but never did. During the Pandemic, my husband and I wanted to invest in something that we could grow and leave as a legacy to our children, and T&A Beauty was born. As much as I spend on makeup and getting my makeup professionally done, it only made sense to launch our own cosmetic line.

The beauty industry continues to grow, how does one create their own beauty line and product line like you did? What all does it take?

It first took a change of mindset, I made sure I had the correct team in place to help me find out who my target audience is so that we could reach them and give them quality products. The most important thing is investing in good quality products and branding yourself so that people will see you as a brand and not just another product.

You launched your company in the middle of the pandemic and managed to make six figures in only four months, what do you contribute your success to?

Hard work, and determination! Most of all patience, although things have moved quickly I’ve still had to be very patient, at times I’ve wanted to speed up the process but it wasn’t time, so I had to listen to the people on my team, and be patient.

You’re very active in the community and even partnered with the Barbara Cares Foundation to donate a portion of your proceeds to their cause. Why is it important for you to give back and what made you personally choose this foundation?

It’s important that the community knows that I have not and will not forget where I come from! The community is who have helped me become who I am, it’s very important that we give back always! I chose Barbara Cares because they are a small fish in a big pond like myself, I see the founder working so hard for his foundation, and I wanted to be able to be a blessing even if in a small way.

Who is someone in the beauty industry that motivates and inspires you and why?

Supa Cent! I’ve watched her grow in so many major ways, and she stays in her own lane doing so and I love it! She is very inspiring to the female entrepreneur. Just to be able to watch her growth within her business alone is phenomenal.

People buy into people, what is something about yourself that you’re extremely proud of that people may not know?

I have made many accomplishments along the way, before starting T&A Beauty. I built computer software, and now because of T&A Beauty, I have been able to quit my job, and be a full-time entrepreneur.

Who would you say is the first person that #COSIGNed you and helped you believe you could create T&A Beauty?

My husband! This idea came to me in the middle of the night, I rolled over and told him, and he said “ok, let’s do it” and a week later we launched. (Yes, literally a week later)

A week later? That’s crazy, but look at God. What has been the most difficult aspect of being a beauty entrepreneur and how did you overcome it?

I would say that it’s getting people to trust me and my brand, I’m just a girl from Fort Worth, TX, but I’ve overcome it by giving the best customer service to all, and making sure they have awesome quality products that they love!

Last but not least, who are 5 people in the beauty industry you #COSIGN? Please list their IG as well.
