Oklahoma City is gearing up for the highly anticipated “Why Not?? Comedy Show” hosted by NBA MVP Russell Westbrook and comedian Demetrius “Juice” Deason. The two have teamed up to host an evening of laughter and premiere entertainment with your favorite stars of stage.
Slated to perform:
Ray Grady of Kevin Hart’s “Next Level;”
Tacarra Williams, mother, motivational speaker, and hilarious standup comedian who recently performed for Selena Gomez and The Weeknd- while on a date;
Ron Taylor, who can regularly be seen on BET;
and renown comedian and show host, Demetrius “Juice” Deason.
Emmy Award winning hip-hop artist Jabee Williams will open up the show with a live performance. A native Oklahoman, Jabee is known as one of the top influences in music and entertainment and his music has gained regional and national attention, and continues to speak positive volumes to his fans.
“Our mission with this event is to cultivate an ambiance of laughter, camaraderie, and entertainment for the city. We are offering an all-encompassing experience for everyone, including an organization we can give back to,” says Demetrius Deason, the CEO of Layups2Standup.
Oklahoma’s hottest DJ, Kendrick Warren a.k.a. “YOameriKANdream,” will be in the mix.
The “Why Not?? Comedy Show” will be an annual event for the city of Oklahoma, kicking off the Thunder’s NBA season. Each year a charity will be chosen as the beneficiary of event proceeds. This years’ beneficiary is YWCA Oklahoma, an organization that aims to help and empower women. Their services range from offering safe places for women who have suffered rape or domestic violence, to job training, to health and fitness, to childcare, to counseling.
