DON’T TAKE IT PERSONAL is a well rounded and spirited show that touches on a multitude of topics that range from movies, music, popular culture, and all-around entertainment. With two unique points-of-view, Jay Wil and Hollywood Kas are the duo behind this funny, and entertaining bi-weekly podcast.

It’s an unfiltered look at music, film, politics, and more. One views the world as it is, and the other views it as it should be.
What void does your business fill in your current industry?
We offer an unbiased look at culture, which isn’t readily available in today’s politically correct society.
Tell us three lessons you’ve learned while operating your business.
Consistency is a must.
Synergy matters, everything you do has to make sense.
Put your focus into creating the best content possible over everything else.
Mentorships are vital, if you could be mentored by anyone in the world who would it be and why?
Hollywood Kas – I would definitely choose Magic Johnson because he does the impossible. I mean, he beat AIDS and he established one of the best business portfolios out there. He beat life and death.
Jay Wil – I would have to say Diddy. From a success and motivational standpoint there’s so many things to learn. Plus my favorite era in Hip Hop is the Bad Boy era.
Tell us one thing majority of people don’t know about you.
Hollywood Kas – I’m the biggest Frank Sinatra fan in the city.
Jay Wil – I toured as a rapper with Juvenile at 18.
Why do you feel that you should win a COSIGN Award?
Hollywood Kas – I think we should win because I think that we offer two of the most unique voices in our field. I don’t think our perspective can be found anywhere else.
Jay Wil – 1. I personally feel like our show is the most entertaining around. 2. Not only have we garnered over 15,000 streams for our show, but we brought out a full crowd for our first live show. 3. For 5 years prior to the creation of “Don’t Take It Personal” we ran the number 1 independent radio show in the city. So along with experience we also have the track record of work put in to the Dallas creative scene. 4. We’re currently in the midst of planning an 11 city live show tour. 5. We’re the only podcast nominated at other award shows in Dallas.
Who do you #COSIGN and why?
Hollywood Kas – I #COSIGN the rapper Star because I feel like his work ethic is unparalleled. That’s the sort of ethic I want our brand to have.
Jay Wil – I #COSIGN Devy Stonez. He’s one of my favorite artists in the city, and he’s quietly putting out some of the best and most successful music around. I’d have to also say I cosign the producer Sikwitit. No one works harder than him, and his hard work & talent has results.
