With Mother’s Day being around the corner, it’s time to finalize your weekend plans to make your mom feel special. If you’re last minute with your planning, don’t worry; we got you! You won’t have to get that, “I brought you into this world, I can take you out,” speech this year. Here are a few tips and ideas you may want to use.

Mothers day

5 Easy, Simple Mother’s Day Gifts

COOKING & CONVERSING.

Keep in mind that almost everyone has a mother or someone that they celebrate on Mother’s Day. This means that the struggle will be real when it comes to last minute plans outside of the house. However, you can make last minute shopping work to your advantage. If you’re not too bad in the kitchen, take the time to pick up groceries to cook and talk for or with your mom. Spend the day really getting to know your mom and letting her in on what’s happening in your life.

GIFT CARDS & NOTES.

If you’re not doing anything big this year for your mother or you can’t make it in town, a gift card is always a nice touch. Plenty of nail & massage spas offer gift cards for purchase. Grab one for your mom so that she can take a day to pamper herself. This may seem like the easy way out, but that is where the note comes in. Be sure that you write a message inside the card letting your mother know why she deserves to pamper herself, and just how much she means to you.

WHAT CAN’T YOU HAVE THE LAST OF?

If you are a last minute planner and you’re trying to remember last minute items to get your mom, this should do the trick. Try to think of the items that your mom wouldn’t let you have the last of. For my mother, it is Coca-Colas and her favorite snack. Creating a basket or stocking your mom’s fridge/pantry up with her favorites will definitely leave a lasting and loving impression. Often times, it’s the smallest gestures that mean the most… especially when she realizes she doesn’t have to make a store run.

WEEKEND GETAWAY.

This sounds expensive, but it can actually be a cheap last minute idea. Many sites such as Hotels.com, Expedia.com, or even Groupon offer discounts on hotels. Booking rooms in May for getaways that aren’t until later in the summer gives your mother time to give you ideas on what she’d like to do while on her mini stay or vay-cation.

MOVIES, FLOWERS & EDIBLES.

Not that type of edible. Having edible arrangements sent to your mom is a perfect last minute gift. Flowers and edible arrangements are flamboyant enough to scream, “I was thinking about you,” but simple enough for you not to over do it. When sending arrangements, be sure to take heed of tip number two and include a note. (You can never write too many notes!) Also, the movie, “Mother’s Day,” is releasing this weekend so it’s fitting to grab you mom and check that out at your local theatre.
