Super producer J.White is on his way to becoming a household name. He’s been having an all-star year for the past few years producing Cardi B’s hit singles “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It,” which both landed number one spots on the Billboard chart. He also produced the 21 Savage and J. Cole cut, “A Lot,” and has partnered with another famous female artist, Iggy Azalea, lending his talents on her latest single “Sally Walker,” which has been performing exceptionally well on the charts.

Creative Currency and Team Hennessy hosted J.White’s Grammy party, bringing out Dallas executives and media to celebrate one of our own winning the prestigious award. The event was held in Uptown Dallas at Citizen and guests were treated to food courtesy of Smoot’s Kitchen, personalized J. White cupcakes, and complimentary Hennessy cocktails. The who’s who in Dallas were in attendance, including FlexinFab, S1, Dorrough Music, Daniel Markland, DJ Elusive, Dessie Brown, and D. Tall.

We caught up with J.White to talk his newfound fame and about Cardi B, and in our conversation, one thing stood out and resonated with us. When asked what he initially saw in Cardi B that motivated him to work with her, he said, “She was an underdog, and I saw a lot of myself in her.” Now they’re both superstars in their own right.

Check out the official photo recap below, all shot by one of our favorite photographers, Ian Ribail, and be sure to congratulate J.White when you see him in the city or on the ‘Gram.
