Despite my constant struggle to pronounce the now one year old store Epocha’s name right, I will say it’s one year old birthday party was probably a hell of a lot better than mine. Friday night at WAAS gallery, amidst the humidity we’re loyal shoppers and friends of the local men’s wear boutique which opened last April. The party consisted of a fashion show and roof top performances by rappers Tru Def, Jenny Robinson, and more. Known for putting on unique events throughout the year and also voted “Best Sneaker Shop 2014” & “Best 100 Shops 2014” by D Magazine. Epocha is also known for concentrating on premium footwear in very exclusive colors and models. Carrying brands like Asics, Saucony, New Balance, Puma, Vans, Converse, Filling Pieces, Caminando, Red Wing, Thorocraft, and Timberland. It was no surprise to me when I walked into the one year birthday party, that there was a unique vibe amongst the people, and the unlimited beer and Svedka vodka made the evening just perfect. Brandon the owner of Epocha was occupied most of the night, but did take the time out to settle a debate amongst me and my guest. “It is pronounced Epocha (EP-uh-Cuh) but you just go ahead and say it however you want.” From humble beginnings, to being voted best sneaker shop in its first year, I’m sure Epocha’s 2nd birthday party will be just as big. To visit the store head over to Deep Ellum right off 2540 Elm St. Dallas, Texas 75201 or go online to see what is in stock at http://www.epochadallas.com.
