Happy Thursday all! I hope everyone is staying warm. Although this Thursday is cold and rainy the weekend still has a lot to bring. With Christmas just around the corner there are plenty of things this weekend to bring you cheer. I hope everyone had just as good of a week as I did and now that it’s finally almost over let’s get to the good stuff!

Big Bang Holiday Party with Erykah Badu

Yeah! You read the title right. Tonight check out Lo Down Loretta Brown with our beloved DJ Sober at the one and only beauty bar tonight. Bring out your ugly Christmas sweater and grab some Fireball to warm you up. This is a Christmas event you do NOT want to miss. Party gets popping around 10pm see you there!

The MGAPXL Experience

This Saturday see the popular Dallas photographer “Ryan” bring his photography to life with a mixture of fashion and art including various designers and beautifully handpicked models. This event is this Friday and the first of its kind. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $15 online @ themgapxleexperience.eventbrite.com and $20 at the door. Better Block Christmas Party

I understand, you forgot your mom’s Christmas present on accident, but no worries. Let’s face it, you’ve been running a bit behind all year. You finally got around to paying your taxes last month and you still haven’t updated your iPhone. That “shop local” trend has been around years, but you just learned about it yesterday. Stop stressing and take a sip of wine. Lucky Dog Books (633 W. Davis Street) is at the Better Block Christmas Market. Check out the shop’s book collection or the locally hand-crafted wares at the pop-up shop. From 5-10pm so you have time! More information at betterblock.org.

 Prairie Lights 2014

Now – January 4th the perfect date is Prairie lights. This event runs through January and you can enjoy beautiful lights, and hot chocolate. Sunday – Thursday | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM and Friday – Saturday | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. This event is located Lynn Creek Park | 5700 Lake Ridge Parkway in Grand Prairie.

Vitruvian Lights in Addison

Vitruvian Park has found a way to make the traditional Christmas display look more like an awesome artsy party with their Vitruvian Lights display. They use millions of LED lights to turn 12-acres of a natural park environment into a true holiday miracle. The lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. Friday at Vitruvian Park (3850 Vitruvian Way, Addison) and will run nightly starting at 6 p.m. through New Year’s Day. Admission is free. The 12 Days of Christmas at the Arboretum

Celebrate the holidays like never before with this centerpiece exhibit featuring an elaborate collection of life-size Victorian gazebos filled with the charming costumed characters made famous by the beloved Christmas carol.

During the day visitors can enjoy the lavishly decorated DeGolyer Estate, filled top to bottom with a collection of Byers’ Choice Ltd. Christmas Caroler figurines.

During the evening, the garden will remain open for extended hours for The 12 Days at Night, where the beautifully illuminated gazebos will be showcased for magical nighttime viewing. During this time, visitors will be even further immersed in the Victorian-era holiday theme as they enjoy live carolers and holiday themed treats. Tickets are $10.00 – $15.00 and for more info visit
