This past Friday, we had the absolute pleasure to sit down with Dwight Powell of the Dallas Mavericks after the Mavs Academy Hoop Camp, presented by Chick-fil-A DFW. In this brief interview Dwight shares how ball handling is an extremely important basketball skill that all players should work on especially guards and wings. He also shares his insight on this year’s summer league and what he’s most excited about.

Mavs Academy, in partnership with Chick-fil-A DFW, will host a variety of summer camps for kids with all interests, including Hoop Camp, Dance Camp, Development Camp, Gaming Camp, and All-Girls GEM Hoop Camp. Mavs Academy camps are open to boys and girls of all skill levels in the 6-18 age range with prices varying depending on the camp. Each camp will be hosted by Mavs Academy coaches and staff. Athletes participating in Hoop Camp will learn important fundamentals, sportsmanship and the excitement of the game in a fun atmosphere.

Check out our interview with Dwight Powell below and sign up for Mavs Academy Summer camps, now through August at www.mavs.com/academy.
