COSIGNKicks Top 20 Kicks of 2018

 

As the year comes to an end, we have seen some of the hottest kicks that 2018 has to offer. With releases like the Air Max 197 Sean Wotherspoon, Virgil’s Off-White collabs and Ronnie Fieg’s KITH collabs, there’s no doubt that this year was the hottest year in the sneaker culture. We even saw a major comeback from Nike Sb, S/O to Nicky Diamonds   from Diamond Supply and Deon Point from CNCPTS. So sit back and enjoy this year’s Top 20 Kicks of 2018 we #COSIGN.

20. Converse x Brain Dead

2018 was a solid year for converse collabs. Cult LA undrground collective draws inspiration from punk, hardcore music, comics, and skate culture to create disruptive street wear for the irreverent generation. The collab sold out in seconds, making it one of the brands most succesful releases of the year. Converse x Brain Dead collab coming in solid for the number 20 spot.

 

19. Adidas Yeezy 500

Rather you hate him or love him you can’t deny that Kanye kept his promise of, “everybody that want Yeezy’s will own Yeezy’s.” The hype might have died down, but Kanye is still on top when it comes to making a new comfortable shoe. The Yeezy 500 was one of those silhouette’s that you hated on the first look but loved when you saw it on foot, and honestly one of the best shoes to put with any fit . Let us not forget, COMFORTABLE!!  Coming in at number 19, the Adidas Yeezy 5OO.

18. KITH x Adidas FutureCraft 4D

The Adidas futurecraft 4D has been a sought over silhouette for a while now. This year Adidas took it up a notch, by releasing a multi color futurecraft 4D with KITH. This collab was one for the books and sold out instantly on release day. Coming in for the number 18th spot KITH x Adidas Futurecraft 4D.

17. Nike x CDG Air Max 180

The Air Max wave was on a 100 this year, with so many good releases and classic retro’s. One of those retro’s were the Air Max 180. CDG decided to put their spin on the classic Air Max by using pink and black colorways. With the right fit anybody can make this collab look good. Coming in at number 17, the CDG Nike Air Max 180.

16. Kith x Nike Lebron 15 “Closing Ceremony” 

First seen during last year’s NBA All-Star weekend, KITH and Nike dropped it’s second collaboration surrounding the Nike Lebron 15. Using premium materials, with black knitting and royal inspired patterns paying homage to “King James”, it was defeninetly worthy on the top 20 Kicks for 2018. Coming in at number 16, Kith x Nike Lebron 15 “Closing Ceremony” .

15. Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1

2018 was the year of the Jordan 1, especially with all the dope collabarations. Jordan Brand switched lanes and worked with BMX rider,Nigel Sylvester on his own Jordan 1 that represented his lifestyle and love for BMX riding. The shoe comes distress with marks created during the trial and error of the Biking life. The story alone earned this shoe the 15th spot of COSIGNS top 20 kicks of 2018.

14. Nike Off-White Blazer “Serena Williams”

Virgil coninues to put his foot on the gas, as he release more colorways from his 10 collection. This year he hooked up with 23x Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams to collab on kicks and appearal for her Wimbledon match up’s. Even though she didn’t take it away this year, she took away title for one best shoe releases. The collection included the Air Max 97 and The Nike Blazer however,the Blazer was the most sought after. Coming in at number 14, Nike Off-White Blazer “Serena Willams”.

13. Nike Undercover React Element 87

People will say that the Nike React Element 87 is hands down the shoe of the year, we couldn’t agree more. Nike changed the game with the original release of the element 87 and people actually went nuts for a pair. The collab with Undercover set the bar even higher for the react and had sneakerheads willing to pay resell. Coming in at a solid number 13, The Nike React Element 87 “Undercover” collab.

12. Nike Travis Scott Air Force 1

Originally released last year at Complexcon in the white colorway. Nike gave us another chance to own this masterpiece, but this time in a sail colorway. This shoe represents the H-Town hero very well, with removable swooshes,patches, and grills as lacelocks to set the tone for the south. Coming in at number 12, The Nike Travis Scott Air Force 1.

11. KITH x New Balance United Arrows 

Ronnie Fieg has clearly had a great year when it come to collabarations. One collabaration that OG sneakerheads fell in love with was the New Balance United Arrows.  The collection consist of six pairs that pay homage to two of Fieg’s favorite New Balance collabs. Earning the number 11 spot, the KITH x New Balance United Arrows.

10. Air Jordan 1 “Bred Toe”

This particular Air Jordan 1 first surfaced last year when a customer received the bred toes by mistake from Eastbay. As soon the picture was uploaded about the mistake, the internet went nuts and was curious about the new colorway of the Air Jordan 1. This shoe really has a OG feel to it and probably could have released in 85. OG looks make this shoe an instant classic. Coming in strong for the number 10 spot, Air Jordan 1 “Bred Toe”.

9. Nike Air Fear of God

Jerry Lorenzo is no stranger to making dope collabs. This year he collabed with Nike to bring us a special new silhouette. The shoes featured a high-top sneakerboot construction with lacing that wraps around the ankle. This shoe sold out in seconds day of the release and reselling for 700+. Coming in a deserving number 9 spot, Nike Air Fear of God.

8. CNCPTS Nike SB Dunk low Purple Lobster

Nike SB showed out in a major way this year, by bringing us new colorways of classic collabs. CNCPTS teamed up with Nike Sb again to bring us another colorway of the lobster series, but this time in purple. Staying true to the original, the purple lobster came in special packaging, giving OG Sb heads that nostalgic feeling. Taking the number 8 spot, CNCPTS Nike Sb dunk purple lobster.

7. Nike Sb Dunk low Diamond “Canary Yellow”

Could possibly be the hypest release of the year. After being shut down two times at Complexcon, this dunk was no doubt best release of 2018.  Nicky Diamonds released three colorways of the Sb dunk Diamond. First two colorways in black and white and the third colorway  in Canary Yellow, which were the limited of the three. Locking in the number 7 spot, Nike Sb Dunk Low Diamond “Canary Yellow”.

6. Air Jordan IV “Travis Scott”

Dominiating the music charts and the sneaker world, Travis Scott ran 2018 with his sneaker collabs. Inspired by the Houston Oilers, this  Air Jordan 4 is no doubt the best colorway we’ve seen on a 4 in years. Coming in at number 6, Air Jordan 4 “Travis Scott”.

5. Air Jordan 1 Off-White UNC

With multiple restocks the UNC Off-White Air Jordan 1 is still one of the hottest releases of the year. Using an orginal Air Jordan 1 colorway like the Chicago Off-White Jordan 1, the UNC ranks as one of the best Off-Whites to release out of the 10 series. Taking the number 5 spot, Air Jordn 1 Off-White UNC.

4. Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement”

When we talk about classics in the sneaker world, we have to mention the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement”. Jordan Brand celebrated 30 years of the Air Jordan 3, by bringing back the “Black Cement” in it’s OG form. Last seen in 2011, the iconic retro returned in it’s OG form with the classic Nike Air on the back. Coming in strong  landing the number 4 spot, Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement”.

3. Air Jordan XI “Concord”

Back like Jordan wearing the 45! Jordan Brand has blessed us with so many iconic OG colorways this year. No matter how many times they release or how many quanites they make, the shoe will sell out. The number 3 shoe of 2018 goes to the Air Jordan 11 “Concord”.

2. Nike Air Max SW AM 197

Originally seen last year for Air Max Day, it’s official release wasn’t till this year’s Air Max day. The demand for this collab was through the roof, and the price is even higher. Going down as one of the best releases for 2018, landing the number 2 spot, Sean Wotherspoons Air Max 197.

1. Union Los Angeles Air Jordan 1

Drum Role Please!!!!!! Taking  the number  1 spot of top sneakers of 2018, are the Union Los Angeles Air Jordan 1 collab. Using mash ups of OG Jordan 1 colorways, with premium leather quality. This collab will go down as one of the best Air Jordan 1s in sneaker history.
