RAW Dallas Presents: Allure

RAW Dallas. An event almost indescribable took place this past Friday August 22nd. This being my 2nd RAW appearance and 1st time performing in it, I indeed had an interesting time to say the least. Now Dallas has a quite a few showcases in regards to fashion, art, and performances so what makes RAW Dallas so different? RAW: natural born artists is an independent arts organization, for artists, by artists. They are an international community made up of creative individuals across the globe. Their mission is to provide independent artists within the first 10 years of their career with the tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity, welcoming all genres of art including independent film, fashion, music, visual art, performing art, hairstylists, makeup artists and more. Let’s not forget RAW currently operates in nearly 60 cities across the United States, Australia, Canada and, now London!

So how can I describe my wonderful night at RAW Dallas?

Entering into the Venue you look around and see people from all walks of life gathering around celebrating the local talent Dallas has to offer. Photographers such as “CameraMan$TAN” who was showcasing unique methods of photography outwardly state that “RAW gives many artists the chance they’ve been waiting for.” If a decently priced bar, cool art, and trendy people walking around weren’t good enough, grabbing a cupcake from “Kreme de la Cupcake” featured and spotlighted on Food Networks “Cupcake Wars” was the icing on the cake for a fabulously put together night. You were not only treated to great music, art, and food, but live performances and mini-fashion shows as well! Midpoint Eclectic and Dallas Pinup two of my favorite fashion lines displayed for the evening did an amazing job showing the crowd just how pure and fresh the talent in Dallas is. Well Hair and Make-up another largely celebrated craft at RAW spotlighted Groove Salon located in Deep Ellum, and I was able to model/perform with one of their many talented hairstylists “Lex Lu.” Let’s just say performing in RAW was something I surely won’t forget.
